Located at the foothills of Valparai, the Aliyar Dam is a magnificent reservoir encompassed by towering mountains on all sides.

Valparai Waterfalls, also known as the Monkey Falls, is a picturesque natural waterfall nestled amidst rocky cliffs and lush evergreen forests.

While navigating through the picturesque Valparai hairpin bends, you'll come across a marked spot known as Loam's View Point (indicated by a signboard).

Before reaching Valparai, less than an hour away, take a refreshing break at the Waterfall tea shop. Here, you can enjoy tea and snacks at an affordable price while surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Our first destination on our trip to Valparai was the Karumalai Balaji Temple, conveniently located just half an hour away.

Valparai is home to a fascinating attraction known as the Valparai Tunnel. This 8 km tunnel, carved through the majestic mountains, serves as a conduit for freshwater between Valparai and a nearby dam.

In front of the dam, there is a charming little park where you can relax and unwind. Moreover, this spot offers numerous opportunities for capturing stunning photographs.

Before you reach Vazhachal Waterfalls, make sure to stop at the Vazhachal Check Post and present the slip you received at the Malakkappara Check Post. It is crucial not to misplace this slip.
